Review: Melano CC Intensive Anti Spot Essence

Vitamin C is a useful ingredient in skincare and has been known to combat ageing , provides photoprotection, is a depigmenting agent and has anti-inflammatory properties . Vitamin C is a super ingredient and is an important staple for people interested in protecting their skin from signs of early ageing and improving PIH. One famous vitamin C product is the Melano CC. Rohto released the Melano CC line comprising of essence, lotion (remember that in Japanese skincare, lotion is basically moisturizing toner), and face masks. I only got the essence to review since I already have Rohto's Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium in my routine and I think I have plenty moisturizing stuff already. The Melano CC Essence The Melano CC essence has a squeeze tube container in shiny silver colour. The screwed cap is plastic, and it has a tiny pointy applicator so you can use it as a spot treatment easily. It's hygienic, I think even more hygienic than using a pipette/dropper since I suck and...

Review: Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule

The one and only absolute skincare rule is YMMV, your mileage may vary. Basically it says that things which work well for one person's skin may not work at all for other people, and one that brings disaster for one may be amazing for others. This is why patch testing is a thing to make sure that at least your whole face don't get wrecked. (I don't do it, though. I really should.) Me being a person who has done very stupid things and have very stupid things done to my skin, naturally posses some mild scarring here and there. Pitted scars from squeezing at sebaceous filaments on my nose, some scars from milia extractions done by my derm that didn't heal properly, chicken pox scars, and a scar on my cheek which I've had since childhood and may have been caus...

I spend a big portion of my income on skincare so I thought well why not document it as a reminder of which works on me and which didn't? To start with, I need to describe my skin profile. My skin is a combination between dry and dehydrated-oily. My nose is very oily to the point where it shines in half an hour or less, but sometimes peels even under the oil. The rest of my face is usually pretty shine free and even dry. I had a lot of acne on my forehead during the start of puberty, but it turned out to be caused by my very drying facial soap which had exfoliating beads on it. When I tried washing my face only with water, my acne disappeared. My skin problems didn't end there. My skin got so dry during the end of junior high to high school that it started peeling on the sides of my nose, on m...
